Week 3 Completed

Below are the tasks I worked on this week. This week went by much too quickly and with way too much procrastination.

The notable tasks I worked on:

#24 I got the okay from the doctor that my foot is not broke (though I am not exactly sold on this, since my foot is still killing me). I started walking again on Saturday (thanks Lauren and Paige for encouraging me!). I walked a mile 6 different times this week. Not too shabby for just starting back to it.

#58 & #62 We took Nate to the Louisville Zoo Halloween Party. He was so so cute in his dragon costume. As he got to each station where they gave out candy, Nate would say, "Ohh, tricky tricky!" and run over to get his piece of candy. This is the third year we've gone with Nate and it's such a fun tradition. Here's a look back...dinosaur, giraffe, dragon...

#67 Pumpkin Carving Party at the Cathey household is always loads of fun. Also a Halloween tradition I hope we continue for years to come. It was so neat this year that Nate got to be even more involved in the activities. He painted pumpkins and helped clean out the seeds and gooey middle of the pumpkin. I'm sure sometime when he's 43 I'll actually let him carve his own pumpkin. :)

15. Clean out car weekly (3/143).
16. Vacuum house once a week (3/143).
24. Walk 1430 miles (6/1430).
27. Take a vitamin every day for a month (23/31).
28. Go to bed before 11 pm once a week (3/143).
31. Pray with Nate each night (23/1001).
38. Post a comment on someone’s blog once a week (3/143).
41. Donate 100,000 grains of rice (freerice.com) (980/100,000).
54. Have a clean kitchen before going to bed once a week (3/143).
58. Take Nate to do a fun activity once a month (1/33).
62. Take Nate to the zoo 5 times a year (1/15).
67. Carve a pumpkin with Nate each year (1/3).

Week Two Completed

Below are the tasks I worked on this week. I did a bit better about spreading out the weekly tasks throughout the week instead of rushing on the last day to complete them all (reminiscent of when I was in high school, running around trying to do all my chores 5 minutes before my mom got home)

I'm very proud of myself (and my whole family) for sticking to #27. Nate is honestly the driving force behind this one. He's so excited about taking his vitamins and always wants to hand us ours too. Very helpful.

#65 Nate and I went to my brother Aaron's football game on Sunday. This was actually the second game that we went to of Aaron's, and Nate is hooked. He tells me from time to time that he wants to watch Aaron play football again. I think his new found love of football is 50% watching the game and 50% the hotdogs his Grandpa Doug buys him.

#91 Nate's friend Zoe was unable to attend his birthday party, so we got her and Nate together on Sunday at Chuck E Cheese. We all had pizza and spent as many tokens as we could (and there was still some left!) and fun was had by all. I think Nate and Zoe could have spent the entire time playing the water gun game. There are some pretty adorable pictures of Nate and Zoe on a motorcycle. The funniest part was that I put Nate in front and Zoe behind him holding on, and she was unhappy with this. I originally thought she was scared to be so high up, but soon found out it was just that she wanted to be the driver. We switched them and both were happy. A modern day woman for ya. ;)

6. Once a month log my work tasks/times for the day. (1/33)
7. Get Nate’s baby book up to date.
15. Clean out car weekly (2/143).
16. Vacuum house once a week (2/143).
27. Take a vitamin every day for a month (15/31).
28. Go to bed before 11 pm once a week (2/143).
31. Pray with Nate each night (15/1001).
38. Post a comment on someone’s blog once a week (2/143).
41. Donate 100,000 grains of rice (freerice.com) (460/100,000).
54. Have a clean kitchen before going to bed once a week (2/143).
57. Have a game-night once a week (2/143).
65. Go to a sport/event for Aaron once a year (1/3).
76. Go to yard sales three times each summer (2/9).
91. Set up 5 play dates a year for Nate (1/15).
97. Update 101 in 1001 Blog once a week (2/143).

See you next week! Keep me motivated!

Week One Completed

Below are the tasks that I worked on this week. I was able to complete everything that I set out to do once a week... though I won't admit to how many of those got done on the last possible day. Maybe I should have put "procrastinate less" on my list, eh?

The only truly notable thing in the list below is that #24 is on hold pending a possible broken foot. I'm awaiting doctor's call tomorrow to let me know if it's broken or not. If it's not broke I will amend #24 to be Walk 1430 miles within the 1001 days, that way I'm still shooting for roughly 10 miles a week, but I can make up this week's missed mileage in future weeks.

#27 proved to be easier than I thought. I'm horrible about remembering to take any medication. Nate recently had his 3 year checkup in which they recommended we start him on a daily vitamin. So yummy Flintstones for him... and ME! I hate taking giant yucky vitamins, so I just started taking one of the Flintstones everyday when Nate takes his. He's very excited about taking vitamins to help him grow "big and strong" and so most days he reminds me that we need to take our vitamins. This comes in very handy. Now if I can only get him excited to remind Mommy to vacuum. ;)

#92 was actually quite fun. I've never really given Nate total control over picking his outfit. I did have to nudge him a bit as his original choice of shirt looked like it was defective and had these weird not even 3/4 length sleeves... it was like a smidge longer than short sleeves, but it was the layered shirt look. So I think it was meant to be long sleeves, but clearly wasn't. He ended up picking out an adorable monkey lifting weights and on the back of the shirt it shows the backside of the monkey. It's really cute. And he got comfy workout like pants that match. Mommy approves.

#89 I got ORANGE toenails! :) Getting into the fall spirit.

13. Make my bed in the morning four times a month (1/132).
15. Clean out car weekly (1/143).
16. Vacuum house once a week (1/143).
